Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Cravlo is a personal food-discovery and meal-tracking app. We collect only the data we need to run the features you use. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in (Sign in with Apple, or email and password) we receive:
- Your email address
- Your display name, if provided
- An anonymous identifier from Apple if you use Sign in with Apple
Profile information you provide
- Daily calorie goal
- Height, weight, goal weight (optional — used to calculate a recommended daily calorie goal)
- Sex, birth year and month, activity level, weight-loss pace (optional — same purpose)
- Profile photo (optional)
Content you create
- Photos and short videos you take or upload of food (videos are used to identify the dish)
- Search history (dish names and restaurants you've found)
- Saved (favorite) restaurants
- Calorie log entries (meal name, calories, macros, optional photo)
- Fasting sessions (start time, end time, target hours)
- Feedback messages you submit via Contact Support
Location
Cravlo requests location access only when you actively use a feature that needs it — tapping Find Nearby Spots or using the location picker. Your coordinates are sent to our backend, which forwards them to Google Places to find restaurants nearby. We do not store your coordinates after the search completes.
Technical data
- Authentication tokens, stored locally in the iOS Keychain on your device
- A randomly-generated device identifier, used to offer signed-out visitors a small free trial of the AI features before they create an account
- Basic usage records — which features you use and when — used to enforce fair-use daily limits, power product analytics that help us improve the app, and protect the service from abuse
- Subscription status (which plan you are on and when it renews or expires), used to unlock paid features
- Standard server access logs (IP address, request timestamp), retained for 30 days for debugging and security
How we use your information
We use the data above strictly to operate the features of the app:
- Identify food in your photos and find matching restaurants nearby
- Estimate calories and macros from your meal photos and descriptions
- Save your search history and calorie / fasting logs
- Calculate recommended daily calorie goals from your health profile
- Enforce fair-use daily limits and protect the service from abuse
- Provide and manage Cravlo Premium subscriptions and unlock paid features
- Understand which features are used, in aggregate, so we can fix problems and improve the app (product analytics)
- Send account emails such as password resets and email verification, and reply to you if you contact support
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the app you signed up for.

Photo storage and retention
- Photos you take or upload are stored in Supabase Storage under a folder keyed to your account
- The image URL is referenced from your search history or meal log
- When you delete a search or meal entry, the corresponding photo is removed from storage
- Your search history is capped at the 30 most-recent entries per account; older entries and their photos are automatically removed when you save a new search
Your rights and choices
- Edit profile: in-app via the Me tab
- Delete individual entries: swipe left on a recent search, or tap the trash icon on a meal log or fasting session
- Sign out: Me tab → Sign Out
- Delete account and all data: in the app, go to Me tab → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, profile, search history, saved restaurants, calorie and fasting logs, and all stored photos. You can also email cravlo.support@gmail.com if you prefer we do it for you
If you are in California or the European Union, you have additional rights under CCPA and GDPR, including the right to request a copy of your data, to correct inaccuracies, and to know what we have shared. Email cravlo.support@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights.
Children
Cravlo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has signed up, email cravlo.support@gmail.com and we'll delete the account.
